Our four themes converge within integral sustainability. We aim to connect diverse plans, projects and parties into integral sustainability strategies. This approach enables us to create a maximum positive impact in regard to sustainability.

An integral approach to sustainability
At &flux, we create structure in this organisational task. We develop integral sustainability strategies in collaboration with municipalities, companies and organisations.. We look at all sustainability themes and examine which activities and projects contribute to sustainability and what fits within the organisation(s) scope. This is how we accelerate the transition to a sustainable environment in the Netherlands.
Our approach
From strategy to execution
We consider all aspects of sustainability. Together with organisations that share our ambitions, we work on integral sustainability strategies. We operate on three levels: strategic, tactical and operational.
Strategic
How do you translate vision to strategy? We support and guide the process of decision-making by setting concrete goals.
How can municipalities enable and support integral sustainability? How can you guarantee an integral approach to various sustainability challenges? Together with the organisations involved, we combine complex challenges into coherent strategies.
Tactical
To achieve your goal, you need to know which steps to take. A clear roadmap, for example, offers perspective.
At the tactical level, we look at what it takes to make an integral sustainability plan a success in, for example, organisational and governmental processes. In addition, we enable translation from plan phase to execution phase by formulating concrete steps.
Operational
&flux is involved in implementing programmes on the ground to realise genuine impact.
How do you ensure that integral sustainability is embedded in organisations and policy? Which win-win opportunities are available and how can we exploit them? We help with these types of questions.

Our Impact
Sustainability strategy Maassluis
With enthusiasm, we worked with the municipality of Maassluis to draft the Sustainability Strategy 2030. This multi-year programme entails a consistent sustainability stance and sets the course for the coming years. At the same time, it is adaptive to ensure success in changing political contexts. The strategy clarifies the role and responsibility of the municipality in relation to residents and partners.
The Sustainability Strategy 2030 provides clear outlines for policy strategies and instruments along six sustainability themes (CO2 reduction; energy; circular economy; climate adaptation; nature inclusiveness and biodiversity; and social sustainability) and estimates the resources needed to translate the objectives into specific sustainability projects and programmes.
&flux also contributed to the implementation of the strategy, specifically in developing communication building blocks. These building blocks focus on collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and communication with Maassluis residents.
